Open shelf unit

A frankly open box. Used to break a long run of doors and stop the wall reading as a wall of cupboards.

About 10 minuteseasy400 mm wide

What you need

A cross-head screwdriver. That is all. Every hole is already drilled — you will never need to measure or mark anything.

01

Lay the parts out

Find the labelled panels and put them face down on the flat cardboard the cabinet came in. Every label reads PART n OF {total} — lay them out in order and check nothing is missing before you start.

02

Fit the cam bolts

Screw a cam bolt into every pre-drilled hole in the panel EDGES. They go in finger tight, then a quarter turn with the screwdriver. There are 8 of them.

03

Drop the cams into the side panels

Push a cam housing into each large round hole in the inside face of the two side panels. The arrow stamped on the cam must point towards the edge the bolt will come from.

04

Stand the sides up and join the bottom

Slot the bottom panel’s bolts into the cams on one side, then turn each cam a half turn clockwise to lock. Repeat on the other side. Do the same with the top panel.

05

Slide the back panel in

The thin back slides down the grooves. Do not force it. Once it is in, the cabinet is square — check it sits flat before you tighten anything further.

06

Fit the shelf support

Push four pins into the small holes at the height you want, then rest the shelf on them. You have 32mm of adjustment either way, so you can move it later.

08

Hang the fronts

Clip each hinge onto its mounting plate until it clicks. The two screws on each hinge adjust the door left/right and in/out — get the gaps even before you move on. This is the step that decides whether the kitchen looks right.

09

Level it

Turn the adjustable legs until the cabinet is level in both directions. Check against the neighbouring cabinet, not against the floor.

If something is missing or damaged

Stop, and tell us the order number and the cabinet code from the label. We will send a replacement panel cut to exactly the same size — you will not have to modify anything.
